| Christine Whitehead OBE Christine is Professor of Housing in the Department of Economics, London School of Economics and Director of the Property Research Unit, Department of Land Economy, University of Cambridge. She has been working in the fields of urban and housing economics, finance and policy for many years and was awarded an OBE in 1991 for services to housing. She is author of a large number of academic and policy articles and major reports on housing ranging from the first econometric model of the UK housing market to her new text with Sarah Monk on "Restructuring Social Housing Systems: From Social to Affordable Housing", published in 2000. Over the last few years she has been involved in a number of major projects estimating housing need and demand in the South East. She has been advisor to the House of Commons Environment Select Committee on four occasions, latterly with respect to housing and planning. |
