SPR Webinar: New Data, New Insights: How new data sources and techniques are changing property research

Real estate decision-making has long been based upon a combination of data analysis and intuition, with great variation in the sophistication of the data analysis. There are valid reasons for this status quo, such as the heterogenous nature of assets. However, the hurdles to more sophisticated data-led decision making are increasingly surmountable. Technological advances have greatly expanded data availability and improved ways of analysing the data to make more detailed and accurate assessments.

In this webinar we will hear how new data sources and techniques are being incorporated in property research, and how this trend cuts across areas of expertise. The webinar will begin with three expert speakers sharing short presentations on different applications for new data in real estate; how new data is helping to quantify the impact of ESG on portfolio returns, how non-traditional data and techniques can lead to better asset selection, and issues in data governance and data infrastructure. The session will conclude with a panel discussion on what this means for the future of property research and an opportunity for the audience to ask questions.
