Joint SPR/ULI Seminar: European Logistics
EUROPEAN LOGISTICS
The seminar will commence with two presentations summarising two recently published studies. 

The first by M&G Real Estate about bespoke EU-funded logistics drivers including the TEN-T transport infrastructure programme and the Digital Single Market and the impact on rental growth and value.

The second by Cushman & Wakefield on last mile deliveries including a bespoke calculation with respect to future demand by country across Europe. The presentations will be followed by 
a discussion including a panel of industry experts and market players.

Moderator:
Tommaso Franzolini leads the masterplanning and design of corporate & technology projects for the Advanced Technologies team at Scott Brownrigg Architects in London. His recent work focuses on the integration of urban logistics, advanced manufacturing, data networks and clean energy production in cities globally. As a participant of the Executive MSc in Cities (EMC) by the London School of Economics and Political Science, Tommaso is currently engaged on the latest cities research to improve the way we analyse, strategise and deliver transformative urban projects.

Speakers:
Lisa Graham is currently EMEA head of Logistics & Industrial Research at Cushman & Wakefield.  Her research and publications have focused on Europe’s logistics property sector since 2003 when she joined ProLogis to head up their European research.  Prior roles in Europe include a financial analyst at Lazard Capital Markets and a consultant for Property & Portfolio Research.  In the US, Ms. Graham was a financial analyst at Salomon Brothers in New York and a research analyst at former JMB Realty (currently Urban REIT). Ms. Graham has a BA from University of Pennsylvania and a MS from the University of Wisconsin’s Real Estate program.

Alex Lund joined M&G Real Estate in 2016 as a research analyst focussing on UK industrials and European markets. His responsibilities include the formation of in-house views, the determination of strategy for M&G Real Estate's funds and bespoke in-depth research projects. Alex has worked in real estate research since 2012. Previously, he worked for Property Market Analysis, a leading independent property consultancy, and was responsible for UK Business Space forecasts and presenting market views to clients from the fund management, banking and property company sectors. Alex has a first class BA (Hons) from the University of Leeds and is studying for the Investment Management Certificate (IMC). He is a member of the Investment Property Forum (IPF) and the Society of Property Researchers (SPR).

Panellists:
Martina Malone is senior vice president, client relations, Europe and the Middle East, and is responsible for client relations and capital raising with Prologis’ European and Middle Eastern investor base. Her focus is to develop and deepen relationships with institutional investors and consultants across Europe and to raise capital for all of Prologis’ funds globally. During her time at Prologis, the team has raised over $16 billion of capital for funds and ventures in Europe, the Americas and Asia. Prior to joining Prologis in 2010, Ms. Malone was head of European client relations and capital raising for JER Partners for eight years. Previously, she was at Deutsche Bank AG as vice president in the European Securitization group. Ms. Malone also served as vice president, asset finance, at Credit Suisse First Boston. Prior, she served in various real-estate-related roles at Hypo-Bank in Munich and London. Ms. Malone is an active member of INREV and also is part of the Talent Committee of Real Estate Balance, a UK initiative to encourage greater gender balance in the Real Estate industry. She holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Arts from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich, and also spent one year at Ecole de Management in Strasbourg, France. She is a German national and is fluent in German, English, French and Spanish.

Logan Smith oversees the Logistics and Industrial sector for BNP Paribas Real Estate.  He has 19 years’ experience in logistics real estate investing in Europe and North America.  Prior to BNP, he served as Head of Acquisitions and Dispositions for Prologis in Europe where he and his team sourced and executed €2.2bn of transactions.  In other roles, he has served as Chief Investment Officer of the TPG Capital owned entity P3 Logistic Parks in Prague, and Head of Acquisitions for an affiliate of Realterm Global, based in the United States.  He began his career in real estate as an Associate in the Management Development Program of Security Capital Industrial Trust in Europe, which subsequently became Prologis.  In this capacity, he had the opportunity to participate firsthand in the growth of the logistics real estate sector in Europe and oversaw Prologis’ technology-related business development initiatives in the United States.  He resides in Amsterdam, holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, and a B.A. with Distinction from Cornell University.
